Common questions

Answers

How do I log a bet?

Tap + on Portfolio. Search Kalshi and Polymarket (Polymarket US included), or copy a market link in the exchange's app and tap Use. Pick your side, say what you put in, in dollars or shares, and save. Kesin fills in today's price; if you paid something else, tap it or use − and + to change it.

How do I connect my Kalshi or Polymarket account?

Tap Connect your account on an empty Portfolio, or go to Settings → Connected accounts. For Kalshi, add a read-only API key (the guide is below); for Polymarket, your public wallet address. Your first sync and history import from each exchange are free. With Premium, Kalshi syncs every time you open Kesin, and Polymarket stays up to date even while the app is closed.

Does Kesin work with Polymarket US?

Yes, for logging: search Polymarket US markets or paste a polymarket.us link, and Kesin tracks the price and settles the bet when the market does. Polymarket US accounts have no public wallet address, so they can't connect for automatic sync yet.

Can I bring in bets I made before Kesin?

Yes. Settings → Connected accounts → Import history brings in your finished bets, sold or settled. Polymarket needs only your public wallet address; Kalshi uses your connected key. Each exchange's first import is free; importing again or keeping it current is part of Premium. Where the exchange's record covers a bet you logged by hand, the exchange version is kept and yours can be restored from the same screen.

Is connecting my Kalshi account read-only?

Yes, with a read-only key, which is what Kesin asks for. Kalshi API keys have full access unless you create them with read access only, so Kesin asks Kalshi what a key can do every time it syncs, and refuses one that can trade. Kesin only ever uses a key to read your positions and trade history. Your key stays on your iPhone, in the Keychain, and is never stored on our servers: when Kesin syncs, it's sent securely, used to read your positions, and forgotten. Disconnecting or signing out removes it from your iPhone; on a new phone, you paste it again. Treat it like a password, and if you'd rather not hand one over, logging by hand is free and always will be.

Polymarket is different: it needs only your public wallet address, which involves no keys or permissions at all.

My P&L looks wrong. How do I reset it?

Settings → Reset portfolio data. It shows exactly what will be deleted and asks you to type RESET, then clears your positions, imported trade history and value history. Your journal, watchlist, alerts and connected accounts are kept. With an account connected, your open positions import again on the next sync.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Kesin. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep Premium until the current period ends. Bought Premium before? Settings → Restore purchases in Kesin brings it back.

How do I delete my account and data?

In the app: Settings → Delete account, at the bottom of the page. It permanently removes your account with your positions, trade history, journal, watchlist, alerts, connected-account credentials and push registrations, immediately and irreversibly. An active subscription is billed by Apple, so cancel it there too. If you'd rather we do it, email [email protected] from your account address. Our privacy policy lists what we store.

Does Kesin place trades for me?

No. Kesin tracks, explains and journals. It reads your positions but never places, changes or closes a trade. You trade on Kalshi or Polymarket directly.

Guide

Get your Kalshi API key

  1. Sign in at kalshi.com. A computer's browser is easiest for this.
  2. Open your profile menu → Settings → API Keys, and create a new key with read access only. Kesin checks this before saving it and won't take a key that can trade.
  3. Kalshi shows the Key ID and gives you the private key once, as a file. Keep it somewhere safe.
  4. In Kesin: Connect your account on Portfolio, or Settings → Connected accounts → Kalshi. Paste the Key ID and the private key's full text, from -----BEGIN to END-----. Notes or AirDrop can carry them from your computer.
  5. Done. The key stays on your iPhone; Kesin syncs your positions and can bring in your finished bets, and with Premium it syncs every time you open Kesin. You can revoke the key on kalshi.com at any time.
